Academic positions available - July 2015

Ca’ Foscari University of Venice is seeking applications to fill permanent, full-time positions in various fields. Eligible applicants should have been employed as permanent faculty members or research staff by a foreign university or research institute and hold a permanent position equivalent to the one for which they apply, for the past three years or longer.

Who we seek
We seek individuals of any nationality with a strong research commitment, an outstanding record of high-impact international publications and a proven record of teaching in the field associated with the post. Experience in leading research groups, conducting/coordinating international projects, and a proven attitude to raise research funding are highly valued.

Knowledge of the Italian language, although considered a practical advantage, is by no means a requirement. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Available positions
n. 1 Tenure track assistant professorship / Associate professorship in Creative Arts and Culture
The successful candidate will have a strong record in research and teaching, with proven expertise / exposure in one or more of the following areas
Art and art history
Performing arts
Visual studies, Visualization and New Media
Interest and expertise in interdisciplinary research on creative and cultural art practices intertwining  with science and technology are highly valuable for the post.

n. 1 Tenure track assistant professorship / Associate professorship in International and Area Studies
The successful candidate will  have a strong record in research and teaching, with proven expertise / exposure in international relations and foreign policy analysis within and/or among one or more of the following regions:
Europe
East Mediterranean and Eurasian countries

n. 1 Associate professorship in Social Welfare Studies and Social Policy
The successful candidate will  have a strong record in research and teaching with proven expertise / exposure in one or more of the following areas:
comparative social policy and intervention
social welfare studies
social security and transformation
Interest and expertise in interdisciplinary research based on quantitative methods and/or data analysis are highly valuable for the post.

n. 1 Associate professorship in Computational Methods and Complex Systems
The successful candidate will have a strong record in research and teaching with proven expertise / exposure in one or more of the following areas:
computational economics/finance
risk mitigation/management
networks and graph theory applied to the analysis of social and economic systems.
Candidates with strong quantitative background in mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, or physics are most welcome and equally fit for the post.

n.1 Associate professorship in International and Cross-cultural Management
The successful candidate will have a strong record in research and teaching with proven expertise / exposure in international and cross-cultural management within and/or towards eastern Asia. Knowledge of Eastern Asian culture and fluency in one or more Eastern Asian languages are most welcome and best fit for the post.

n. 1 Associate professorship in Molecular Biology and Molecular Biochemistry
The successful candidate will have a strong record in research and teaching with proven expertise / exposure in one or more of the following areas:
Chemistry and super-molecular chemistry of biological molecules;
chemistry of DNA and self-assembling of biological molecules;
lipids, vesicles and proteins architectures;
the nano-bio interaction at molecular level.

 

The annual salary for each post is in the range 50.000 € – 75.000 €  depending on academic position and qualification, and according to the standards established by the Italian Public University System. Relocation services and assistance, as well as seed funding for research will be negotiated on an individual basis.
